How to take care of your feet?

Dos

* Check your feet daily for injuries blisters, cracks, scratches. Pay special attention to the areas between the toes.
* Avoid extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold. Protect your feet from hot objects (hot in summer sidewalk, motorcycle mufflers).
* Wear cotton socks fitting correctly.
* Check shoes and socks for a foreign object daily. Check your feet at the end of the day.
* Tell your doctor about any change in the colour of the skin, pain or abnormal sensation such as tingling, burning and stinging.

Don'ts

* Avoid walking barefoot even inside the house.
* Do not wear shoes or sandals poorly adjusted.
* Do not wear shoes wet, it can be a source of infection, such as athlete's foot.
* Do not remove calluses and corns for yourself.
* Do not apply plaster or corn or remove any type of tape.
* Do not use a hot water bottle or heating pads on your feet.
* Avoid smoking. Smoking reduces the blood circulation to the legs leading to loss of limb.
* Never use scissors, knife, nail clippers or a knife to cut the nails. By using a nail filer is safe.
